Contact Us

The best way to find out about the club is to visit us and meet some members.

The club is open on Sundays during terms 4 and 1 from 8.30am until about 4pm.

Our club is run by volunteers, so if your query cannot answered by the frequently asked questions (FAQs) and you’ve had a good look through the website, then send us a message and we will get back to you, hopefully within a couple of days.

Project 100

Project 100

In recent seasons, engineering assessments have confirmed that the timber pylons supporting the clubhouse—installed in the early 2000s, have reached the end of their service life. As a result, we are now undertaking essential works to restore the structural integrity of the club and reinstate our insurance coverage.

Project 100 is the banner under which all this work is taking place. As the Vaucluse Amateur 12ft Sailing Club approaches its 100th anniversary, this initiative has two clear goals:

  1. To secure the club structurally, and

  2. To ensure it remains financially and operationally strong for the next 100 years.

This is more than a building project—it’s a legacy effort to protect everything our club represents.

Too many people have contributed too much over the past 99 years for us to allow this club to falter now. VA12SC has produced world champions, introduced thousands to the love of sailing, and created lifelong friendships and community ties that span generations.

Project 100 is our collective opportunity to secure the future of the club, for our centenary, and for the generations that will follow.

Where We Are Now

The committee is taking a strategic, coordinated approach to address the club’s immediate needs while laying the foundation for long-term sustainability. We are:

  • Working with engineers, planners, and marine construction experts to define a staged, cost-effective approach to the required structural works. These works have been prioritised based on urgency, safety, and the need to reinstate insurance coverage to reopen our doors.

  • Engaging with government at all levels to pursue infrastructure and community sport grants that can help fund the repairs and support the club’s continued service to the community.

  • Launching a coordinated fundraising effort, including events like Kutti Cocktails and a tax-deductible donation campaign through the Australian Sports Foundation, to ensure we have the financial resources to proceed with critical works.

  • Planning for the progression of the next sailing season, with a focus on minimising disruption to training and programs wherever possible, while keeping safety at the core of every decision.

These actions are being undertaken in parallel, with urgency and care, to ensure we protect the club’s physical infrastructure, restore access and use for our members, and secure the future of our sailing programs and community life.
